There is no such thing as a TV rerun. A show which is aired more than once is an “encore presentation.” This new term has a clever marketing spin. First, the audience, not the performer, is the catalyst for an encore. Second, encore presentation transforms a negative or neutral experience into a positive. Finally, the concept of encore presentation is versatile. For example,indignantly, “my assignment is not plagiarized. This assignment is an encore presentation.” Or, emphatically, “I wasn’t repeating myself. This conversation is an encore presentation.”
