[Picture your favorite ice cream here; Mine is peppermint stick]

Ice cream is a wonderful thing. Yesterday I attended a class taught by Sarah Lohman on making ice cream at the Brooklyn Brainery. The Brooklyn Brainery has an eclectic mix of inexpensive classes and its Park Slope setting will indulge Brooklyn fantasies. Sarah Lohman, a food historian and blogger, is a knowledgeable and colloquial [no food pretense here] teacher.
Ice cream is easy to make with only a few possible screw up steps, and you can get an ice cream maker on the cheap. And to borrow from Eddie Murphy in “Trading Places,” once you’ve had homemade ice cream, you don’t want to go back.
