with The Twilight of the Bombs by Richard Rhodes

This is the last book of Rhodes’s nuclear epic. I’ve learned so much including recent American history that I really should have known, the reason why we invaded Iraq for example, that I will forgive him for the writing sin of referring to his own influence on nuclear policy[twice]. This book ends on an up note relatively speaking but now that I am aware I realize that nuclear weapons are still part of our modern background noise.
