Before I forget…

On Saturday, I attended the NORML Mid-East Regional Conference [more on this later in the week]. Jahan Macru spoke on the results of his research on the
endocannab​inoid receptor system [will try to explain at some point-suggest you read Wikipedia article]. He quoted an Italian doctor who says that the purpose of endocannabinoids is to help us “Relax, eat, sleep, forget & protect.”

This statement was an epiphany for me. Why? Because I’m so focused on remembering the big and small incidents of life. Anytime I forget ANYTHING, I’m off and running on the early signs of dementia bandwagon [I doubt I’m alone here]. Everything doesn’t have to be remembered. Macru’s point is that forgetting prevents information overload; mine is that forgetting brings peace
